The name means facing the sun, and the point is on the front of the head. It is a point outside the fourteen channels, on the forehead above the pupil and just inside the hairline. Published sources differ on the detail of the location, chiefly over whether the measurement is taken from the hairline or from the eyebrow, and the hairline itself recedes with age, so the site is better understood as a small area on the upper forehead than as one exact spot. Later literature discusses the point in the context of headache, dizziness and the nose.
