Lysimachia christinae (whole herb)

Nature and flavour. Sweet, bland, slightly cold; Liver, Gallbladder, Kidney and Bladder systems.

Classically grouped with the herbs that drain damp and clear heat, with those used for jaundice-type patterns, and with those used for urinary gravel; pounding it and applying it to swellings is also recorded. The traditional literature is descriptive, and this entry makes no claim of benefit.

Classical category · no formulas, no dosages, no herb-drug combinations are given.
Safety. The herb sold as guang jin qian cao is a different plant, Desmodium styracifolium, and it is sold under almost the same name, so the label alone does not tell a buyer what they have. Being cold in nature, this herb is classically avoided where the spleen and stomach are weak and cold, and in pregnancy. Liver injury has been reported for herbal products of many kinds, which is one reason internal use belongs under professional supervision rather than self-selection. No amount is given here.
