Location. On the lateral aspect of the thigh, on the line joining the greater trochanter and the lateral epicondyle of the femur, 7 cun above the popliteal crease. It is commonly found where the tip of the middle finger reaches when a person stands erect with the arms hanging at the sides.

The name means "wind market", and the classical explanation is that the point is where wind is said to gather on the outer leg. It is one of the best-known points of the lateral thigh line; the name and the traditional account describe the site, not a demonstrated result.
