GV2 · 督脉

Yaoshu yāo shù · 腰俞

Location. On the posterior midline of the sacrum, at the sacral hiatus.

The name joins the low back with the word for a point where qi passes through. Classical lists give it as the point over the sacral hiatus, where the vessel enters the sacral canal. The record is of position.

定位。在骶区,后正中线上,正对骶管裂孔。

穴名取「腰」与「俞」,为督脉由此入于骶管之处。古典文献载其正当骶管裂孔;所记为部位。

Classical record · not a treatment recommendation. Needling technique is a licensed practitioner's skill and is out of scope here.
Over the sacral hiatus, where the sacral canal comes close to the surface. Angled and superficial technique is standard. Practitioner skill, not a self-care technique.
