Dictamnus Root Bark bái xiān pí · 白鲜皮

Dictamni Cortex (Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz.)

Nature and flavour. Bitter, cold; Spleen, Stomach and Bladder systems.

Classically described as clearing heat and drying dampness, dispelling wind and relieving toxicity, and is used both internally and in washes for itchy skin conditions.

性味归经。苦，寒；归脾、胃、膀胱经。

传统记载为清热燥湿、祛风解毒，可内服，也可煎水外洗用于皮肤瘙痒类问题。

Classical category · no formulas, no dosages, no herb-drug combinations are given.
Safety. Cases of drug-induced liver injury have been reported in association with Dictamnus species, and furanoquinoline alkaloids including dictamnine are the suspected constituents — this is a documented safety concern, not a historical footnote. Avoid internal use if liver function is abnormal or liver disease is present. Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
