Anthropic’s revenue is dominated by enterprise customers, and for much of the past year it has been fending off OpenAI and Google — both of which run their own startup programs. With a widely expected blockbuster IPO ahead, Anthropic is making sure the next generation of companies builds on Claude. Claude Startups is the core of that push: credits, tools, and direct time with the Applied AI team to pull founders into the Claude ecosystem.
“Startups tend to be the first to push Claude to its limits,” said Beth Robertson, head of startups at Anthropic. “When new models are released, they are ready the same day to take on projects that used to seem out of reach. Claude Startups gives founders credits, tools, and direct time with our team, so more companies can build that way from day one.”

Apply if: your team is building on the Claude API and was founded within 5 years (or funded within 2) — free credits, top rate limits, and direct access to Anthropic’s Applied AI team are real leverage for early AI products.
Skip if: you are not planning to use Claude, or you are on Bedrock/Vertex and do not want to migrate. Credits only work on the first-party API, so they would be wasted.
